I have several small (150 gallon) waterholes that I'd like to treat to reduce bacteria. How much 3% hydrogen peroxide should I add per gallon (or per 100 gallons) of water.
Just approximating here. Example was for 150 gallon tank, which you said you had. 3% is about 12 times as weak as 35%, so 1.5 ounces times 10 gives me 15 ounces for 150 gallons gives me 15-16 ounces. One thing to consider is food grade.
I couldn't follow that at all. That's why I'm just looking to make it simpler. We all can readily buy 3% HP from the drug store. How much per 100 gallon should I add?
Adding hydrogen peroxide to your water tanks or water holes will reduce the algae and bad bacteria. It also will help worm the deer. You want to add peroxide to create a 10-15 ppm solution. In the stores most of the peroxide is 2-3% solution. You can also find 35 and 50% food grade peroxide in various places online. For example, if you have a 150-gallon water tank buried and if you add 35% food grade peroxide to the water tank to get it to 10 ppm solution here is what you need to add. Divide size of the tank/water hole 150/1,000,000 = .00015% Multiple .000428 x 10 =.00428 gallons .00428 gallons/.35 = .0122 gallons .0122 gallons x 128 oz/ gallon = 1.56 oz of 35% peroxide per tank
Sorry, I don't follow the math. Maybe John can explain.

I just read your response on the GRO forum.
I would appreciate any information. After some reading about midges and EHD in will not "build" a pond but will use rubber tanks.
I will post this to the forum also.
John is talking about 35% hydrogen peroxide. I wish that he would get in on this.
My dogs drink water out of tarps and a wheel barrow even though I have fresh water for them.
Just my opinion, but I would only add hydrogen peroxide if water level went down and I added water. Then I would keep the same ratio.
Obviously I would rather have the definitive answer.
Is there a maintenance dose for consumption and rainfall? I do not know. Help, please from you advanced guys.
Once you add the 3% peroxide to water, how often would you have to replenish with more peroxide?
