Hello, we own 175 acres in SE Iowa. About 15 miles NW of where the Lovstuen buck was shot. Soil is moderate but not great. Our farm ranges in the 35-60 CSR with mostly slopes. We have about 85 acres tillable and 85 acres of timber and timbered draws. Our area gets extreme hunting pressure so I am learning that habitat is key.
The farm is undeveloped for habitat. We owned the original 77 and homestead for 18 years and have added 18 across the road and the last of it last November. I started doing some habitat/foodplot work 5 years ago and have tried to increase it just a bit each year. I look forward to tapping into this great resource and putting together a nice 5 year action plan for the future.
Thank you...
-Mike
