Did a soil test. PH is 6.1. Planning on planting mass builder. Test said to put down 2 Ton/acre 60 - 69 or 1.5 Ton/acre 80 - 89 ag grade. Area is ~ 1.5 acres. Coop said they couldn't deliver that small of an order of ag lime. I also need to spread a small amount of P2O5 and K2O. They suggested spreading Pelletized lime instead. They said it would need to be applied yearly but I expect I'll be spreading other supplements anyway. They said the Pelletized equivalent would be ~ 250 to 400#/acre. Anyone know if that amount is accurate? Thanks.

If someone is real low on pH, i usually say go 800 lbs the first year and 400 lbs of pellet lime per acre as maintanance. But you might be best to go 800 lbs in the spring and another 800 year 2 and then 400 lbs per acre after that, then retake a soil test.
Good luck with the small deliveries. I once got my guy to do 10 tons and then when I needed a follow up he never returned my call. I kept calling and ever offered and extra $300 just for delivery cost on top of regular costs. Still no way. I call three places and even checked with local ag extension. No one want small deliveries and Im guessing small is less then 10 tons. I feel for you. What I did was use a cone spreader with agitator and mix dolitimic lime (which was grnaular) 2 bags with every one bag of high cal ag lime. You cant use straight ag lime in a cone spreader as it packs up the cone and wont spread. Now my soil test is too high in magnesium but after two consecutive years of finding no one i had no choice. But hey, my ph went from 5.1 to 6.3 after 4 years later.
400# of pelletized lime will be equivalent to a ton of ag lime. It will give you similar results but ag lime will have better residual results in year two.
