With all the rain this spring and summer in Shawano County, WI, along with mechanical issues with my ATV, weed sprayer and disc plow, I ran out of time to properly prepare my food plot. To ensure I got "something" planted before September, I decided to skip spraying (and waiting for all the weeds to die), and just mowed down all the clover, grasses and weeds that had grown this summer. I didn't disc as much either due to my ATV over-heating.
I fertilized per John's recommendations, and planted Fall Draw on Augsut 9th. Two weeks later, I took this picture. Starting to come in nicely. It will be interesting to see how the Fall Draw competes with the weeds/grasses.
August 23rd. 2 weeks after planting.
